About Me

Hi, I’m Mashael Fakhro. For years I have been drawn to living a simple, balanced and natural lifestyle to deal with the challenges of life and modern living.

These lifestyle changes continue to support my mental, physical, emotional and spiritual healing, allowing me to be truer to myself, and I believe that we feel most fulfilled and whole when we are being true to ourselves.

To me, our life journey is an invitation to come back to our true nature by letting go of what hasn’t been supportive to us and by nourishing ourselves with what does. I believe that when we do this, we create a safe space for ourselves to heal and strengthen naturally.

Through training the mind to perceive the world with greater clarity and presence, nourishing the body with wholesome grounding experiences, and supporting the soul with safe spaces to feel heard and process heavy emotions, we tap into a sense of belonging to ourselves and to something greater than ourselves: we feel loved. That is when we feel safe and free to be our true selves and to approach life with more ease.

My own practices for the above include:

Training the mind to understand concepts, develop reasoning skills and find patterns in life through doing (and enjoying) math questions via (try it!) that develop grounded, step-by-step thinking, presence and confidence

Nourishing the body with wholesome food and lifestyle, natural healing methods, creative experiences and connection to the senses, nature and community, and syncing with nature’s “slow” and steady rhythm

Supporting the soul through reflection, journaling, prayer, simple meditation and soulful conversations, inviting acceptance of my true nature

The projects and services I offer in the community are:

Training the mind:

  • Math mentorship for kids and adults to support grounded thinking and confidence

Nourishing the body:

  • Conscious Living zines (indie self-published “magazines”) to inspire wholesome, rooted lifestyles
  • The Conscious Living platform: a listing of resources on natural, balanced and simple living in Bahrain, from plant-based food to meditation centers
  • Seasonal community events to inspire nature and community connection
  • Poetivity, a women’s circle for poetic and creative expression

Supporting the soul:

  • One-on-one coaching sessions for women that create space in people’s lives where change and healing happens

I believe that because we are all connected, physically and spiritually, our wellbeing depends on the wellbeing of the community and the earth. When we use a holistic approach on ourselves, we help all. I hope the resources on the website support you on your journey and create joy and meaning.

My academic background includes a BA in Applied Math from Harvard University, a Master’s in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and coaching certification via JRNI’s Catalyst Coaching program.
